Export Reports
PDF Auditor can export selected findings from supported tabs. Forensics can produce a structured HTML report for review and handoff.
When to export
Export when findings need to be shared with another reviewer, attached to a ticket, archived with a document intake record, or compared across review runs.
Exports are most useful after you have reviewed the relevant tab filters and selected the level of detail your workflow needs. Treat exported files as sensitive because they can include file names, hashes, metadata, script content, object previews, hidden-text previews, attachment names, image details, and other document data.
Export types
PDF Auditor has two export patterns:
| Export | Use it for |
|---|---|
| CSV or JSON table data | Reusing rows from supported inspectors in spreadsheets, scripts, tickets, or review systems. |
| Forensics scan report | Saving a self-contained HTML report with scan summary, findings, warnings, redaction checks, script findings, and interpretation notes. |
Supported table-based tabs can export CSV or JSON when export is available for that tab. Current tab exports include Accessibility, Annotations, Attachments, Bookmarks, Fonts, Forms, XFA form values, Images, JavaScript & Actions, Links, Signatures, and Size Analysis. Size Analysis has separate exports for object-level data and Page Sizes. Several Forensics report sections also export CSV or JSON for their own tables.
CSV export, JSON export, image extraction, attachment extraction, and the full Forensics scan report require PDF Auditor Pro.
Export table data
- Open the tab that contains the findings you need.
- Review filters, search text, and tab settings before exporting.
- Use Export and choose Export as CSV… or Export as JSON… .
- Save the file in the review record, ticket, or controlled folder used by your workflow.
CSV files use human-readable table headers where possible. JSON files are better when the export will be processed by another tool or compared across runs.
Save a Forensics report
Run the Forensics analysis first, then use Save Scan Report… to save a self-contained HTML report. The report includes the scan summary, document integrity details, incremental update information, risk findings, warnings, redaction checks, script findings, and interpretation notes.
Open the sample HTML report or preview the PDF version.
Tab settings that affect exports
Some tabs have settings that hide routine or noisy rows. Review these before exporting if you need a complete inventory:
- Annotations: Hide link annotations is on by default.
- Attachments: Hide embedded files is on by default.
- Images: Hide 1×1 pixel images is on by default.
- JavaScript & Actions: Hide GoTo actions and Hide URI actions are on by default.
